Meet Amber: The Relateable School Psych
Share
Hey there! I’m Amber, the face behind The Relatable School Psych. If you’re here, chances are you’re a fellow school psychologist, special education professional, or just someone who loves a good mix of humor, real talk on work-life balance, and practical support in the world of special education. Welcome, I'm so happy you're here. 🤗
A Little About Me
I’ve been a school psychologist for 10 years. I've made it past those first few years where everything felt new and scary, but even still, navigating behavior plans, running meetings, and supporting staff while also being student-centered---it is a tough balance. I’m also a mom of two. My goal? With my experience as a School Psych and as a parent, to make the realities of school psychology and special education feel a little more manageable, less isolating, and yes—remind us why we started.
Why I Started The Relatable School Psych
When I first started in this field, I felt overwhelmed (hello, imposter syndrome!). I wished there was a place where school psychs could connect, share struggles, and swap resources without feeling judged. Over time, I realized that so many of us struggle in silence—so I decided to create a space where we could support each other, laugh at the absurdities of our jobs, and share strategies that actually help.
Now, The Relatable School Psych is more than just an Instagram page—it’s a growing community. From behavior support tips to funny reels about paperwork nightmares, I want this space to be both useful and a reminder that you’re not alone in this work.
